Coffee Body Scrub: Benefits, How to Use It, and What to Avoid. Why coffee body scrubs are so popular. Coffee scrubs are very effective if used correctly.
Coffee scrubs have a satisfying “polished skin” effect—fast. The texture lifts away dull, dry buildup, while nourishing oils can leave skin feeling softer right out of the shower, making it a simple routine that feels instantly rewarding.
What makes this coffee scrub special?
Moisturising liquid soap: helps the scrub rinse clean while still feeling conditioning.
Freshly dried coffee: provides the exfoliating grit and that rich coffee scent.
Coconut oil + sunflower oil: add slip (less tugging) and help lock in moisture after exfoliating.
Epsom salts: add extra exfoliation and a spa-like shower vibe.
Benefits of Coffee Scrub -
Smoother skin texture: exfoliation helps soften rough patches (elbows, knees, heels).
Less dullness: skin can look brighter because dead skin is being removed.
Better-feeling body care routine: oils can help skin feel more comfortable after showering.
Pre-shave prep: used gently, it can help reduce the look/feel of roughness that leads to ingrowns. The scrub will also soften hair for shaving.
How to use a coffee body scrub (the right way)
Shower first for 2–5 minutes in warm water to soften skin.
Apply a small handful to damp skin (start with one area at a time).
Massage lightly in circles for 20–40 seconds per area—no heavy pressure.
Rinse well and make sure all grit is washed away.
Pat skin dry and follow with lotion/oil if you need extra hydration.
How often: 2–3x/week for most people; 1–2x/week if you’re dry or sensitive.
What to avoid (so you don’t irritate your skin)
Scrubbing too hard or too long (a common cause of redness and sensitivity).
Using on broken/irritated skin (sunburn, cuts, rashes, active eczema flare-ups).
Using right after shaving (more likely to sting—use before shaving or the day prior).
Daily exfoliation, especially with a harsh exfoliant like coffee, can be too much. If this is the case, and you'll feel it, we recommend a more gentle exfolient such as chocolate or even a gentle, liquid soap.
