As I age, the natural glow leaves my skin. Is there any way of getting the glow back?

"This is a common problem; as we age our skin tends to lose that natural luminosity. No worries though, there are plenty of skincare products that can help you get that glow back!

Here is a list of skincare ingredients for you:

  • Glycolic acid. Being an AHA exfoliant, glycolic acid helps you shed dead skin cells, revealing a brighter layer of skin underneath. I always preach the benefits of regular exfoliation because it’s that good! As we get older, our cells turnover slows down significantly -that’s why it becomes even more important to use good exfoliating products. Physical exfoliation is also effective, but glycolic acid is the best.
  • Retinol is a powerful anti oxidant that also brightens your complexion. It is considered the best anti aging ingredient but it must be used carefully if you have sensitive skin, as it is a potential skin irritant. It is best used during the night as it degrades with sun rays.
  • Vitamin C, just like retinol, is an anti oxidant that also gives your skin a visible glow. ✨ If you wear it during the day, which is recommended, you must wear sunscreen on top. Vitamin C is an unstable ingredient that must be protected well from air and sun rays, don’t buy it if it’s in a transparent container.
  • Niacinamide (vitamin B3) works great in combination with vitamin C and is known for its brightening properties and also for reducing the appearance of pores, especially needed for those with oilier skin. Here is a link to an answer where I write about niacinamide more in-depth:
Unlike someone else said, niacinamide (or vitamin B3) is not an expensive ingredient and, being water-soluble and stable, it’s easy to formulate with. Plus it’s one of the best ingredients for the skin, which is why everyone loves niacinamide! These are the main benefits of niacinamide: * Enlarged pores become less visible. This is very useful for those with oily or acne-prone skin. * Reduces Hyperpigmentation from the sun. At high concentrations, niacinamide is basically a brightening ingredient. This is why it pairs well with vitamin C - another strong antioxidant. * Niacinamide is an antioxidant (just like vitamin C). Because of this it’s also anti-aging ingredient. * Niacinamide repairs damaged skin and fix redness so it’s perfectly fine to use it on sensitive or irritated skin. WHEN TO USE NIACINAMIDE You can add niacinamide to either your morning or night routine. It’s a stable ingredient even in presence of light or heat (unlike vitamin C). HOW MUCH NIACINAMIDE SHOULD YOU USE? Niacinamide is beneficial even at low amounts (around 0.5%). However, for it’s brightening and shrinking pores activity, I recommend concentrations of at least 10%. To summarize, if you’re using niacinamide for anti-aging and to repair the skin barrier, low amounts are okay. But as a hyperpigmentation agent, you need way more. You can use niacinamide in creams or serums but usually, serums are more concentrated. HOW TO MAX OUT NIACINAMIDE BENEFITS By now you know why and how you should use niacinamide. To boost niacinamide's anti-pigmentation effects, pair it with vitamin C like in this serum. Another ingredient that works great together with niacinamide is retinol. Using a combination of 2 or 3 different ingredients with the same purpose allows you to get even better results! Hope this helps! Luisa P.s= if this answer was useful, please upvote and share it. Tranexamic acid is a gentle acid that inhibits melanin production. It’s a stable ingredient that can be used both during the morning and at night and it works best when combined with niacinamide or other brightening ingredients. You should should use it at 3%-5% for it to be effective, according to studies."  https://www.quora.com/My-skin-is-getting-duller-with-age-Is-there-any-product-that-can-help-me-get-a-natural-glow-on-my-face
